The default pins pane takes up about a quarter of my screen! All for about a dozen pins! Can you make it smaller, like on CM2? Also, I think it should default to not shown. Experienced people will know to look for it and will find it quickly; for inexperienced people it's just a further distraction.

...and shouldn't the button on the ribbon say "Hide pins" when pins are on screen? (It still says "Show pins" even though they're shown.)

I'm not sure about this. I seem to have discovered a way of having the pins automatically hide themselves. They stay up for 5 seconds or so, then disappear automatically. I didn't ask for it to do that!

I can make the pins gallery any size I want by letting the mouse turn to a double arrow and then left clicking and dragging the frame down...

You can also Auto Hide them to get back the real estate.

Yes, I did that too, but it shouldn't be necessary. In CM2 the pins pane takes a realistic amount of screen space given its content. CM3 should do the same.

My other point was that when the CM dialog very first appears the pins pane is on screen and too big, suggesting it has huge importance. I'm thinking about new users; the current CM3 GUI is scarily complicated so I was thinking of ways to reduce that complexity. Hiding away the more advanced features to start with seems the way to do that. I'd remove the pins pane completely for the default configuration.

The pins will be hidden away initially, and have a more reasonable layout when they first come up.
