Welcome to the AcrChecker page

Whether you're installing Adobe Camera Raw, or some other plugin, it's a piece of cake compared to setting up this 19th century Daguerreotype outfit!

Instructions not your thing?

Run AcrChecker, click the button that says Copy to Clipboard, and then paste the information into a message that you then send to someone who will help you.

AcrChecker is here to help Windows folks debug and document their Photoshop plugin configuration. It may be used to check your installation of Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). AcrChecker works for Elements or Photoshop, and for any version of ACR. It has an option to check all of your plugins. This is not an Adobe tool, but is provided by Curvemeister.com as a free service to the Photoshop community.

  1. After running the program, answer yes to any warning dialogs about running unlicensed software,
  2. If you are debugging a Curvemeister installation, or any plugin other than Adobe Camera Raw, click the button that says "Show all of my plugins".
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen, click the Copy button, and paste the information into your message before sending it to the person or who will help you.

Adobe Camera Raw version 2 is compatble only with with Photoshop CS.

For Adobe Camera Raw 3.x, you must have Photoshop CS2 or Elements 3 or later. Camera Raw 4.x requires CS3

ACRChecker (as opposed to Adobe Camera Raw) is compatible with all versions of Photoshop.

How AcrChecker Works

AcrChecker uses the same process that Photoshop uses to locate its own plugin files, selecting only the files that are relevant to an Adobe Camera Raw installation. These files include the Nikon and camera raw plugin and zip files.

AcrChecker does not modify any files, though this may be changed in the future.

Other features:

  • you may click on the "Just for fun, show all of my plugins" checkbox, and get a look at all of the plugins for all of your Photoshop versions.
  • The column headers may be clicked in the usual way to toggle the sort order for a particular column.
  • right click on a list item for a variety of commands.

For best viewing, adjust your monitor until you can see all the squares.
