Switching color space

When I switch to another color space, say from WGCMYK to Lab, changes I made to WGCMYK were lost. Thus to continue editing and retain the changes, I have to accept the change in one color space, and then evoke the filter again to edit in another space. That's time consuming and inconvenient.

Is there an option to let me switch between the color spaces w/o losing my changes in the earlier color space?

I've wanted that feature myself, but I don't think it currently exists. My workflow is often to do the shadow, highlight, neutral routine in the best colorspace, hit Apply, then go back for the fine tuning in what is often a different colourspace. Having an "Apply and continue" button would be useful, especially if the curve(s) it applied were stored and could therefore be undone and canceled.

This is a good suggestion that would make life a lot easier.  Basically have Apply do the current set of changes in the current color space, and OK finalize them and return to Photoshop.

For now, all I can promise is that I'll give it some careful thought.

Would you be able to respect the undo after the apply??
There would have to be a way out short of exit without save.

Would you be better to ask when a color space change occurs after changes? 
i.e. a dialog box stating. "You have made changes to the image profile in htis color space.  Do you want to send these changes to the new color space?"

might be easier than having to add an undo...
