Oh My Stars

Postby gregmeister_admin » Wed Nov 27, 2019 8:20 pm

Hi,
Below is an image that a friend of mine helped create by making the 12 exp. of the galaxy.
I did the following to resolve the data from the originals.

1) I used Affinity Photo to create the stack and export a pixel layer as a PNG for processing.
2) Using a piece of freeware called RNC color Stretch I was able to create the base image.
2a) I used Affinity Photo to desaturate the Reds in the image about 15%.
3) Using Curves I expanded the brightness by adjusting in CMYK only the K channel i found it to be a much more subtle effect.
4) I used the NIK Dfine2 filter to reduce the color and luminosity noise.
5) I used Curves to enhance the saturation in LAB of the B channel.

Actual Process time?? about 45 minutes.

Research and testing about the same.
