For some reason most of these strike me as needing to be seen very large.

Something else that strikes me is that the degree of imperfection you've allowed in each photo is very important. If you edited out all the small deviations from the pattern, or centered all the off-centre elements, these would be very different photos. Like with the first one (wall of blue windows), if you look at it long enough it seems to tilt to the right because of the uneven pattern; if you 'fixed' that I think it would be a much less interesting shot. With the second one (stone lion), given the central framing I'd expect a third gold character above its head.
As I see more of these pattern shots, I think you have a talent for spotting both the large-scale pattern and how small details can throw it slightly off-balance, which creates interest.

Hi
Yes there was a lot of discussions regarding crops. I think that cropping some of these will make the image much better. The one you have played around with looks like lots of the discussion we had. I think with this one I will do several different crops and wait to decide. I think there was general agreement that the top of the image was less interesting than the bottom.
Regarding the patterns. I do love repetitive patterns but have learnt that the disruption to a pattern can be the most important thing. The challenge for me is to learn how to use that effectively.
Retirement gives me the time and energy to think. I like it
