5 Jan 2019 Discussion

Postby Ganna » Fri Dec 21, 2018 11:59 pm

My house is approx 25miles from our beloved Drakensberg, Kwa Zulu Natal South Africa.
My son took these with his cellphone (mobile phone). Photography means painting with light and this was this last Wednesday.
One a panorama and the second one not, but the same view. I am just amazed at the quality of cellphone cameras. OK, whites were blown in the sky, but still quite amazing
From our viewpoint, we are looking westward, towards the setting sun

As always, I'm amazed at how beautiful it is where you live, Martin!

Greg's department mostly :) I think it depends whether they are static, running around and how fast running :D Mine are a bit older and aware of cameras presence. They either give a stupid pose or are shy. I find my 70-200mm lens works well, firstly no distortion of faces as with wide angle and secondly you can be at a little distance and they are not so aware of what you doing. My best ones are when you catch them unaware. I try to be aware of background and light direction and to position my self instead of trying to position them. That's my bucket full of 2c coins :)

Take as many photos as you can while they're too young to object :D
