I set the endpoints using Lab and add a "lizard tail" to the highlight. Then darken the image a bit to create a steep curve to add contrast to the mid tone. I then exit CM2 and duplicated a layer. On the new layer, I turn the a/b curve anti-clockwise to create an over saturated image. Then, I reduce the opacity to my taste.

If your original has highlight detail in the head of the first dog on the right...the front one..then you have hit this pretty well..
