Affinity Focus Stacking

Postby gregmeister_admin » Sun May 19, 2019 4:03 pm

I have been playing around with Affinity Focus Merge and I find the process very straight forward and powerful
This image is a composite of 50 images from my Nikon. I applied the NIK sharpening pro 3 for output to the image. Very lightly.

They look amazing. Was it a macro lens?

Portrature and macro. I will be interested to hear about this. Is it a special lens or could you just use a normal 105?

Great images.

I had a focus stack of a landscape. Unfortunately, it was a one time affair and I did not do enough images and the out of focus image of the subject was larger than the in focus. I had a large blurry "halo" that I had to hand crop out. Heavy sigh. That image will not be available to re shoot.

Julie, I think Greg is loafing somewhere :D Macro lens is a specialized lens with a very short focusing distance, but you can use it for "normal" distance images as well as they can focus to infinity as well.

So...a macro lens has the capacity to focus at a very close distance -closer than a normal lens? But can also focus to infinity? Is this right?
