Tildy,
Your second version is very nice the colors look believable.
The blues and purples in the earlier versions are not what you are shooting for, the browns and yellows are. You might want to open the mid-tones up a bit by opening this in LAB and just grabbing the L channel and moving it a bit to make the blossoms brighter. It feels heavy for such a bright image.

If you make the flowers too bright, the detail goes away.

You are correct with the brightness issue blowing out the details. The idea is to make it as bright as possible and hold those details. You did that very well. There are some advanced techniques we could use to help us with that including a mask but that is for a later lesson.
