I chose the second skintone example from the top which gave me 77 12 18 on the hue clock whereafter I pinned it to the neck area and moved the curves to those values. (saved) LAB again and thresholding and a lizard tail to get more detail out of the shadows.

She looks a lot better now..
You can get all the changes you described into one pass with CM if you want.
You can save the curve at various points along the way and if you mess up you can re-load the curve you saved. Just make sure you give the saved curve a new name each time and then you can go back to an older version.
