Hi Mike
What do you mean when you say "drag this point (ie set shadow or set highlight) around until you have broken up any solid areas of black/white"?
What does dragging the 'set' point around do?

I'm going to point you to the "Thresholding" thread.  Download and read the documents...many answers will be found there.  Please post further questions after you have read the examples..I'm sure that you will have lot's to think about...

Hi Benny,

Good question.  This is done after you right click on the image to create the shadow or highlight, rather than the curves.  As Greg says, there is a link to a pdf in the materials that explains how to "break" up the highlight or shadow areas.
