These were sure challenging .. don't imagine I've done them properly, but enjoyed the process!
Abby,
For image 1: Start with the highlight, shadow, neutral drill. Then set a few hue clocks across the brown feathers of the eagle and make your adjustments so that the colors stay in the same range across all the clock...go slow it is kind of touchy...
Lastlly up the saturation a bit and you should be good to go...
Image 2: Try moving the pin around on the image a bit and see if you can get rid of the magenta cast you have all over the image.
