Started in LAB setting neutral and adjusting highlight and shadow threshold.  Set neutal point carefully to neutralize rock face in the sun.  Used hue clock to assess the shadows -- they were quite blue.  Exited CM2 and reentered to make RGB adjustments.  Set sample points in the shadows.  Adjusted R G B in the dark area >70% to neutralize shadows (pinned whole curve to avoid changing balance in higlight area).  Had to compromize a bit -- I couldn't make all three channels the same for all points...tried to minimize the differences and make them as small as possible.  After finishing curves exited CM2 again and sharpened.
