I set end points using threshold in Lab. Lock a centre point in the "a" curve. then, heavily bend the green part of the "a" curve anti-clock wise to bring out more green. I also bend the magenta part of the "a" curve slightly to increase red. I then rotate the "b" curve anti-clock wise. I steepen the L in mid tone to highlight to add contrast and finally sharpen the L.

Better no doubt...

the brightness is better as is the color.  Much better...
