I'm way behind but will try to catch up.
Set shadow and highligt, compared it with RGB, and chose RGB for its more brilliant colours, might have been better in lab, but i didn't fiddle with a or b as instructions didn't indicate to do this.

It looks good...

Lab can make a good correction here as well.  You would have to use the saturation slider found in the bottom of the CM window in LAB to bring the colors out without introducing a color shift.
