I set end points and neutral point using CM and lighten the shadow using shadow/highlight. Then, convert to LAB to pet up the color and sharpen the L. I use RGB curves to remove the blue cast on the young man's T-shirt. I would also know whether I can use CM to remove a cast?

whchung,

When you pull down on the shadow areas to open them up, you will tend to flatten the contrast of the image a bit' and you will get areas that lack detail.  CM is very handy for removal of color cast in an Image.  If it is the entire image, you can set a neutral.  In the next two weeks we are going to be working on color in specific areas of the image.  This is a good example that you will want to revisit when we get there...
