This was taken at the Cleveland Auto Show.  I set the shadow point using thresholds, applied an inverted s curve & gave it additional contrast in the shadow end.  I set a neutral point on the whitewall and sharpened.  This was all done in Lab Mode, which I am really getting to prefer.  I'm guessing that I shouldn't become dependent on a single color space, though, right?

Not to worry...I use LAB about 90% of the time.
It's fast, It's intuitive and it works for most of the stuff you need to do with the noted exceptions of mixed lighting and a few other choice images...

I would say the #1 thing I would want you to come away with is that you have a new set of tools for image correction.  Who are we to tell you that the blue wrench is better than the green one...If they both do the job and you like Green why worry...

The goal is great image correction by whateveer means needed to get the job done...we want you to use CM first so you understand the tool but you are free to use other tools to make the images look better.
