Hello again
For my image I selected an underexposed section of photo of the chain drum of a canal bucket dredger.
I used the threshold method and only lab mode.
After bumping up the saturation a tad, I gave it a very slight nudge of contrast. You can barely see that the line is bent.

Good Job....
Here is another look at the image...I don't think it's any more right...Just a different look
I opened the midtones a bit and gave the green a slight increase on the A channel.  When I did that I started to get a blue cast in the greens so I gave the yellow a slight boost in the same area of the image.  Right click on the green leaves in the back and choose "mark" this will show you where you can adjust the curves...
