This is from tonight's New York Times - a bad skin tone for you to fix.

These two individuals have very different complexions.  It is possible to use one skin tone pin, in the right place, to get both of their skin tones in the 12-1 o'clock range.

Two things to check fritz...

Sample size...Mine is 3 pix.  and Pin Placement....If you do not like the tone that is introduced by the pin you can try moving the sample a bit and seeing if the image "looks" better.

Greg,

you are right.
Mine sample size is normally 5 and was lately 3 sometimes 1.
But now he was 10 in experimenting with the childs face of the Barry skin problem.
I was forgotten this and the size on this foto was  indeed 10.

I generally use 10 or 5 for the sample size.  Rather than rely only on appearance, move the cursor around and make sure that the skin tones are all within the 12 to 1 range.

I think Fritz was in the 12 to 1 range in the original posting...

I experienced the same effect when I did mine..It was not a visual corrcetion for the skin tones...rather acceptable image tone while keeping the skin in the correct range...

indeed!

I have controlled nearly all the skincolors!

frits

p.s. to day caibrated my monitor on 0,5 Cd black and white 125 CD/m2 and 5800 Gr Kelvin.
the values are nearly the same as before. And I use these values always.
So, i can say that i find some photo's to the dark side.
also some photo's from the drummers from some people.
Could there be some attention to do it for whole the CM people?

frits

p.s.s for instance the photo from grmurphoto is very black
