Another interesting image - I thought I would tackle this differently to normal.
In Lab, I completely desaturated it (using the slider) and then adjusted the L channel to get the best contrast (for a B&W image) that I could for the water and rocks - quite happy to blow some rocks to get light into the water.
Then I whacked the colours up - set a mid point in the colour channels - planted a number of clocks in interesting areas, and then adjusted that point to what I thought was the best compromise.
So no shadow/highlight or neutral - probably a touch too much yellow. Anyway interesting experiment and it has given me a more vivid image than the conventional (?) approach (which I set neutral in the midtone water)
E7 W2 - gorge
Wow Electric rocks....
Interesting interpretation...I'm Glad you played around with the image...It was a great exercise...
Have you looked at the separate channels in PS to see if you could improve the B&W version?? I was going to but have had a lot of other things preventing me from trying that out...
