Here is my attempt at the picture. I am quite rusted in using CM. I'm using CS3 and do open in the RAW converter where I did a bit of tampering before going to CM ;)

I agree, as the newbie in the group would you mind posting screen shots (or similar) of how you achieve your results - so I can unashamedly copy your workflow ;)

yes I think it an excellent idea if we all post our curves, because that way, with luck, we learn more quickly

Good idea!  This is a matter of cutting and pasting the curves as text to your post, where others may then copy and paste them back again.
