I'm very unhappy in this colour space - mainly because I've no idea what I'm doing (nothing new there!).

So this is my HSB attempt +curve

and here is a conventional Green channel Luminosity blend + Lab
- I think I prefer this one, but we really dont get pumpkins like that in the UK, so I'm not sure if I have interpreted them correctly.

These images are excellent as far as texture and color variation - no problems there.  The effect, which is a unique one for HSB, that I was trying to illustrate was the ability to emphasize the shape of the pumpkins by exaggerating the change in saturation for different regions. 

This is a pure S curve move that is hard to pull off in the other color spaces.
