Inverted L mask, saturation slider in Lab, and some fiddling with the L channel curve itself to try to brighten up thge darker areas while holding the bright areas down.

Russ I think you are getting this quite nicely...

How do you feel about the changes you are making in these images?? 
Does it seem to be making sense??

Thanks, Greg.  Yeah, I do feel I am getting the hang of it.  I hope it will "stick" when I go off on my own and don't have the class and you guys to lean on.  I have captured all the class materials so I will have that to go back to when I need to recall something.

This has definitely been the best class to date.

You can always ask questions in the forum and someone will jump in to help.  There are many voices out here that are very willing to get you through.
