This is a replacement for an image I yanked,too blue.Simplest is best sometimes.

If you take a second pass at this in LAB you can adjust the saturation and L channel to open the image up quite a bit.

Russ do you still have the curve for this...The yellowing of the paper tells me that you have a flat spot on the curve somewhere or an area that is not quite right...the paper is really more white than that...

If you can post the curve I can check it out for you...

Russ,
Thanks for posting the ACV file it helped a ton.

OK...The first shot is your curve showing the flat spot that is causing the weird colors. It is between the second and third lines fromt he left.  it is hard to see because the tone of the worm is very close to the tone of the window.  but if you place your mouse on the odly colored flat parts of the paper you will see the worm in the area I am trying to show...

Shot 2 is a possible solution to the image not necessarily the only one but a possible one for certain.
