Hi!...

Both of you can solver the red halos by loosening up on the mask.
The tighter the mask the more likely you are to leave these areas behind.

As you adjust the mask to make it completely black, back off a bit and see if the halos go away..

Yes,as I widened the slope of the mask I could control the reflections better.Problem is tassels look black but are very black-green.

You can move the center of the A curve a bit to make the A and B channels equal.
Set a hue clock on the black and then slowly move the center of the A curve until the A and B values are equal.

Or

If the black is saturated enough you could ignore it unless it shifts the rest of the scene green blacks are kind of ugly..The hue clock values are more important than which direction they are pointed though.

Here is another attempt.  As you suggested, I used a less aggressive slope on the mask.  Is this better?

Bring the dark end of the mask in a bit more and leave the highlight end alone.  It seems like you are close but not quite there....

Russ,
Tough call.  I would say no... but I sense you are getting frustrated with the image...

Can you again post the ACV file and I'll take it apart on this end and see if I can help you more...

The maroon shadows are what is setting me off...most of the shadows are good on the wall but the ones under the tassels are still hanging in there..

Greg:

Here is the ACV for my version.  I am looking forward to your insights into why I am not getting the desired result.  This exercise has been quite a challenge.
