The shots look just fine...I like the attached curves when you can put them there but they are not required. For your LAB bear you should do the Shadow and highlight drill as well as setting the neutral. Have you tried the saturation slider?? It is right next to the Apply button on the bottom of the channels window it is only in LAB. Try your Bear with a quick slide of the saturation slider and see if you can make the color pop a bit more.
When you set a neutral in LAB you sometimes have the effect of desaturation in the colors. The slider makes it easy to rotate the A and B curve ends and increase the saturation.
For all shots you really should start with Shadow, Highlight, and Neutral.
