I thought the main post will get too big, so I'm putting this separately

The steps I took were
NeatImage
FocusMagic (2px)
CM - basic shadow/Hilight + skinPin
PS in Lab to change the colour of the grass, modified by BlendIF (would have done this in CM is there was a BlendIF feature! Hey Mike, SmartCurve has it, could CM?)
PS, my standard lab saturation Action - for grass & sky, with a+ve removed by BlendIF
K channel Mask Sharpen (amount 77%, radius 33px, Threshold 3) to make a substantial difference to the far hill contrast

I think I guess the grass it too green, if this was Africa, but then I like blasting colour!

Incredible job! Very well done Chris. This photo was taken during winter time, so the grass was realy more dead than alive, thus more brownish with little green in it. Points for this, great job. In summer time the grass looks exactly like that here.

Ah, I thought the grass should be worn out brown - never mind - it is always fun to change the colours of different parts of the image.
If you subtract the colour change to get winter, you get this.

I think the major influence on this scan was neatImage & FocusMagic - I use FM a lot as it actually improves the focus, without the halo sharpen effect.
