Actually Jean I'm thinking this image needs a bit more than curves...
I'm thinking it might need a channel copy and curves...Blue is the culprit...

When I go to edit function from organizerin PSE6 the sand in this image picks up so much sparkle that  it loses context.Iwas able to transfer it to Picasa2 and to Picasaweb as a 5mb image that kept detail in the sand.

I came up with a workaround by opening the image in Capture NX,then converting the NEF file to jpeg.File size went from 5mb to 22mb whatever that indicates. The second image show color and pattern in the sand  I want to work with.I'd like to keep the line of white froth at water's edge also

Greg if this is a NEF file the RAW converter is getting you....
Try resetting it to the install defaults or lowering the sharpness.

The RAW converter allows you to use custom settings and it tends to remember them when you least want it to.
