The first one was done completely in Lab. In the second one, I made the contrast adjustment in RGB but it needed a boost in color so I took a second pass in Lab and saturated it a bit more.
Looking good...
Don't forget the LAB saturation slider if you need more color saturation. It can be a very effective tool to use.
