I kept on getting a green hue into my sky and the rocks.

Warning...Risky suggestion ahead...

Kessi when you have the linked contrast pin, and you have twisted the curve a bit to separate the colors, you can also move the points together as a unit on each separate channel.  Remember the linked neutral part in week 2..this is very simular except you can move the entire curve with the linked points.

try this...

1) create a contrast pin in the image and switch to the A channel in lab.
2) twist the curve to separate the greens.
3) when you get the green cast.  Place the mouse on the lower pin but do not click.  It should turn into a 4 point arrow.  when it does left click and hold. 
4) Then move the point around.  You should see the red/green colors shift around.  You can move the curve a bit to fix slight neutrals...

DON'T GO TOO FAR....You do not want to have to start over....
