Think the Dragon became quite good but the background has too much colur. Besides doing the adjustments given in hints I also tried to lighten Dragon in CMYK with heavy black.

For this exercise you have done just fine...
the overall color is good a bit over the top but that is part of what we are trying to get you to realize.
You can back off just a bit and you will have hit the mark...
