Example 6 Sun Moon Lake-Gary

This board is for the January 2009 Curvemeister 101 class.

I used Threshold in LAB and dragged the  left slide over till things started to break up, then I steepened  the curve, then I went to the a and b slider and moved it until I lessened the yellowish cast in the first bay. I also made a slight adjustment in the Lightness curve at the top to try and get a bit more detail in the clouds.

The two areas to look at closely are the temple on the top right hill and the clouds in the background.

Both can stand a bit more work.  The cloud detail is in there....

BTW there is a lot more color to be had in the image....One of the by products of the L channel adjustment is the need to re-saturate the colors.  push the color around a bit and see what happens.

Tried again... got more detail in the tower and right side, I know the little island an the right has lots of green foliage bu couldn't get it without screwing  other places which I do not feel is good anyway.

better...much better...
Try a neutral in the center back somewhere and see if you can get rid of some of the yellow green effect
