This poor pooch is VERY cold.
he is indeed but his edges are getting warmer...

Notice the edges of the mask as you create it...you can flip back and forth in masking mode or set the mask to visible so you can see the fine detail of the fur.
choose the mask as before using the A channel of LAB.
to do that you need to click on the color mask icon Shot2.
then start to adjust the mask...Shot3
As you adjust the mask you will see the image change like shot 4.
Click on the mask only view in shot5. copy the mask as before and continue on.
