I have to jump in sometime and post my images. Let me know if I am not doing it correctly. the first is my results with the merry-go-round, 136KB. This is under the 200KB limit. Could I have posted another image of comparable size?

yes you can post up to 900 KB in a message.  up to 8 images per post

I'm glad you have posted your work...I think it makes the class more fun and it helps you when you get feedback even if it is my trite little comments when you get it right.

For the merry go round...You have pulled the shadows up quite nicely.  The colors look good although a bit muted.  It can be tough to get saturation back in rgb sometimes.  Did you try a Lab version of this image as well??  The saturation slider makes fast work of increasing saturation in the LAB space.  Give it a try if you have not already.

JRomer,

I split the posting up so it is easier for you and I to track it...mostly me..my gray matter is a bit slower today than even yesterday...
You can start a new thread for each image going forward.  I don't mind.  It actually helps contain the conversation a bit.
