I thought about a lizard's tail, but I decided the highlights are not that important to this image.  I played around with the contrast quite a bit but just could not reach a better compromise between too dark and too washed out,  Is that just this image or can it be significantly improved?

I changed my mind.  The lizard's tail does pick up some detail in the highlighted parts of the spires.

Brian,
You have done a fair job of getting the details back..they are pretty far gone...is there more sure...but you ahve to really work hard to get them back.

You got rid of the color cast, kept the skin tones in the people in a reasonable place and fixed what you could from the highlights...I think you are doing quite well...

Thanks Greg.  Glad I am doing this.  I am comparing my efforts to the my last and best efforts on the first go round and, with your help, I am (mostly) seeing some definite improvement.  Very encouraging . . . maybe I should go for 3!  Then again ....

I took the class twice...

Then I started asking the hard questions like why does a flamingo have it's knees backwards...
Mike saw fit to keep answering me and then asked me to pass on the things I had learned and discovered.

Greg
