I think I did the man from mars ok. I wonder if the leaves in the upper left hand corner are begining to lose deatail or wither it is due to photo quality?
I then went back in and took some of the yellow out of the ground in the foreground. I then tried to use a mask to lighten the dark areas but gave up in the end. Shadow/highlight seemed to do what I wanted. I liked the sillhouette of the tree and was not looking to make big changes to it but I think I could have lightened the rocks on the left more
Forgot to sharpen.

It looks very nice...Your friend the lizard tail can help the shadows a bit....

No real need to if you like it as it is...the leaves do fall apart because of image quality and we are pushing it around a bit more than we should...
