Greg

I followed the directions. I did it but I'm clumsy with moving it all around. There still seem sto be a lot of red in the reflections.
When I watch videos and you draw a square with the curser and then it magnifies. How do you do that?

Just click on the magnify Icon and then Click and drag from Top left to bottom right...

For the Mask you need to be less "hard" on the mask settings.  one of the things you can do is allow a bit of the grey areas on the Mask channel to show through.  Shot 2 is the Mask set too hard.

Shot 1 is the mask set a bit open to allow some of the correction to get to the lighter areas..
Shot 3 is the image with the mask...

Tip:  When you adjust the "hardness" of the mask switch the CM preview to be all channels instead of the mask channel.  Keep the Mask curve up on the screen and adjust the ends of the mask curve.  Watch the areas you want to effect and make small moves...shot4

Greg tried again. Less red but it looks a bit strange in the reflections. Forgot the acv but followed your example

Actually all in all it looks pretty good...The whole idea here is to think in terms of what is getting through the mask...What are we really adjusting and how do we control it....

The trap here is to think that a mask is the solution for everything...it is not...
It's like LAB...once you see the power you have using these tools you start to think they can solve all the troubles...

When you have only a hammer every problem looks like a nail ...so to speak...the real power is in combining these tools in new and creative ways to solve even tougher problems....
