What and where is the sample palette? In Example 4

I can't get beyond pinning the animals face because I don't know what you mean by "sample palette"

The instructions refer to the "push pin icon" in the lower right corner of the hue clock you have set with the pin.  This changes the behavior of the pin.

It's like pulling the pin out of the image...it becomes a regular hue clock at that point.
