As you are seeing this one is really all about the compromise....
Do I want a magenta frame or a green one....While the course work suggests LAB it is a problem for this particular image because the A channel is red / green. Later on if you want to you can try a by the numbers correction for this...but for now you have this image pretty well done...
Most people fall for the over-saturation trap which you have not done. Your shadow, highlight and neutral are good. The only thing you can do in this instance is hunt around for a better neutral and I'm sorry to say you will go raving mad trying....the colors shift too much.
