Again, I didn't do anything extra to these. Just used Curvemeister.
I added a screenshot of the drawings in RGB for comparison.

You have certainly got the color pushed up there...Woo Hooo......
Can you find the place on the L curve where the type lives? that is where you need to make some changes....Try to get the type to be more pronoounced without hurting the rest of teh image...You may have to re-saturate after your lighting correction.

This is a pretty ugly curve. Am I going in the right direction. The writing is darker.

I have to be so careful...Joann, My apologies....I do not mean to frustrate...
Make the curve window bigger so you have more room near the highlight end to make a change.
In Shot.jpg I have your ACV file as posted..
In Shot 1 I have some suggestions...
Set a highlight point and try to make the threshold from that single point. Note the change in the curve window...
Then Adjust the mid-tone contrast by making an s-curve in the middle as shown. The S curve will increase the contrast across the selected area.
Remember to "click" on the web images to see a bigger version on-line if needed.

Are you speaking of the top middle picture that has "stocking" written in it? That picture has a blown out area in the original and try as I may I can't improve it. I'm attaching my ACV file so you can show me what needs to be done.

Gregg, the ACV file load above is my first attempt. I think I did much better with the 2nd try. I'll attach that one again. It is still different from the curve you have but I think better than the first one. I tried making the curve as you have it and it just doesn't look right on my monitor.

I'm not sure what is going on with your monitor but the image looks pretty good here with the exception of the highlights...
Look at the 2 posted screen shots...
Your ACV is the first one...
My MINOR change is the second one....
One of the faults of CM is that the "highlight worm" is the same color as the highlight you are looking for. Many times it is very hard to see. It is in there you just have to look very carefully...When I found it in your image I knew what needed to be moved...The bottom of the L channel has a flat area where the curve is smacked up against the frame of the window. When you lift it off watch the area of the image I have circled...You should see the highlights shift in response to the curve...
