Took a crack at the "Dan and Friend" image. 

- Tried to neutralize the color cast by correcting the squirrel, the window frame and the sunflower seeds in RGB.
- Removed blue cast in show in lower part of window in RGB.
- Corrected skin tone and brightened in LAB (had to mask this in PS as the CM mask wasn't picking up all of the skin tones)
- Added some contrast and darkened the BG (again used a mask in PS)
- Added a touch of sharpening

Nicely done on the correction.  The only thing I would suggest is possibly looking a the shadow and highlight points a bit but, it really comes down to personal taste.  I certainly can see leaving the image as it is..I personally think he has better shape in his face with a touch more contrast in the image...

If you have any thoughts about those type issues we certainly can discuss them...
