Try this with the wizard.GregM
Don't worry about sky,it's overcast not blue.

Ok..I took you at your word...the sky is blown out anyways....
Here is my CM Wizard version...

Everyone should take a swing at this...It points out the choices we need to be thinking about as we go forward...Shadow, Highlight and neutral really are the foundation we build upon for this class...

Applied the wizard's brightness slider to the black channel only. Slightly sharper, "moodier"?

My version.I zoomed in and tried several locations for the neutral,the streetlight pod,the ticket dispenser at the bus stop,but the back of the sign gave me the most neutral roadway.I would add an S curve or a contrast pin across some vegetation to the final image.GregM

When we get away from the wizard you'll be able to make more out of the mid-tones as well.

The versions already posted have tended to leave the tree foliage rather lime green (as in the original).  Here's a slightly more sober version.
