I struggled to get this pleasing and I am not happy with the rocks and the water in the foreground. Somewhere I overdid the curving and there is a weird look to them.

The answer to where you overdid the curve is actually in your screen shot.
The area I have circled is creating the "flatness" you are seeing. It is right on the verge of solarization. If you tone this area down a bit you should get more out of the image.
Regardless of how you tackle it the L channel is the culprit.
