Hi Greg,
You must be thoroughly bored waiting for us to upload.

Thanks for letting me play a bit...I'm not bored...More like concerned...I hope the others in the class are getting the information they need.
Your happy dog's needed a bit of help but nothing too big. I used a high pass filter to sharpen with a mask to control the focus of the image. I wanted the dogs a bit sharper but I did not want the sharpness of the flowers to take the focus away from them. The high pass filter sharpened the fur in the white dog and took out some of the motion blur in the dark one. After that I just bumped the yellow and green a bit in LAB.

That looks great Greg.
I know that this was not a very sharp image. I also did quite bit of cropping in the original. What I found intriguing was the difference between the black and white dog and not loosing too much detail on the fur. I also wanted the yellow flowers to pop out a bit, although the photo was taken on an overcast day so it is quite a flat light.
I like what you did.

I went with a noise filter, slight sharpen, color range to select the muzzle and tail,hue/sat in PS to remove a bit of red then again for some blue, then an edge sharpen action for the dogs and foreground.GregM

The final sharpening worked well for the dogs, foreground grass and the yellow flowers but made the white tops of the buds too white. That tall grass stem could be blurred a bit also.GregM
