My attempt. Set shadow/highligt points, slight saturation tweak later

Georg,
not bad...
The greens are a bit blue but we'll talk about that later in the class.  Typically we want greens to be on the yellow side of green rather than the blue side.  Have you seen the hue clock in the upper Right side of the CM frame??

You can use the hue clock to check the color using the mouse.  Just hover the mouse over the spot on the image and it will give you a fast look at the hue of the sample under the mouse.

Your Shadow and Highlight look solid and the mid-tones maybe could use a tweak; overall it looks pretty good.

First pass ,high pass set to 33;next,CM Lab lightness s curve and color boost:more sharpening.GregM
When I tried for more green in the needles color was leaking into the ice.Guess I could try something with color select in CS4.

The ice at various locations has bit of color or are there solid colors that can be brought out?

Actually there is a pretty good amount of yellow in the ice.  The tree had some snow from the street that was blown into it and it froze.  The Hoar Frost was very white when compared to the yellowed snow behind it.

Greg Tried this. found it hard to get balance between pines and ice. Maybe the pine is too blue.
