Week 1 assignments

Here are my attempts on the week one exercises.  I just worked in Lab but I agree that it would be worthwhile to try them in all the color spaces just to see how they react.

Example 1 looks fine...

Example 2 needs some help in the L curve.  if you hover your mouse over the number in the image you see a "color worm" on the curve grid.  Shot2

If you grab the curve at the end near the middle and drag it down a bit you get...

On the silver balls...
It looks like you forgot the highlight threshold.  If you add a highlight threshold as shown and bump the saturation slider you can greatly improve your version.
Try loading the ACV file attached and apply it to the image you have posted...

Can you also post a larger version of the castle for me..I am having trouble getting anything good out of it.

The flower looks fairly well handled...You did not blow out the highlights and you have a reasonable shadow set...

Lady Liberty needs a touch more contrast.

When you adjust this in LAB remember to bump the saturation to make up for the loss.

Ex. 7 and 8 look solid...good job.
