tried this in rgb
first did shadow highlight neutral and ended up with lovely blue cast.
Tried to get rid of the blue and ended up with a lot of yellow
went tinto lab and fiddled around but couldn't do anything to really balance out the yellow without flooding with blue.

I need help but I still think I prefer this to the lab only adjustment

Julie,
You are actually not the far off even though the curve looks ugly the numbers are closer than you would think.  See shot 3. 

If we accept that the back rock is neutral...then the other rock should be close but not perfect.  The only other issue was the blue fur in the shadows.
