1. I started over, set the neutral, highlight and black.  Then I ramped up the saturation.  Hmmm--very little color!  Why?
2. I looked at Greg's solution and tried to replicate it.  Still very little color.  Why? 

Am I doing something different that I don't realize, I wonder?

Rhonda,
Did you apply the curve you created to make the black and white??
If you did then you severely clipped the a and B channels.  There is very little color info left in the image..

Go back to a clean download of the image and try again...I think you may have really sucked all the color right out of this one...
