Here's the LAB attempt I made.

You did such a nice job overall there are just two suggestions for you...
1) Saturate the colors using LAB see shot2.
2) Mask off the sky so the clouds do not get all messed up by the oversaturation. See shot 1.
I created a Mask in CM using the L channel and adjusted it as shown to block the sky in the upper left. The rest of the image can handle the saturation.
