I moved in both thresholds of the Lightness curve in LAB quite far as indicated below.

Richard,
You may have chopped too much out of the contrast range...We do want you to clean up the image but not at the cost of some of the details...
See if you can keep some more details in the type and also the image on the page..

This time in RGB where I have also tried to keep some color in the image.

It's getting better...the shadow point needs to be adjusted more...the black type braks up a bit...you can have both in this image...

Both - Image details and Black type....
